Healing the emotional and physical body
The healing gift of touch during your pregnancy

Nourishing Touch for Pregnancy & Birth

Massage is more than just soothing—it’s essential care during pregnancy. While we instinctively know that touch “feels good,” science confirms it: therapeutic massage stimulates the release of calming hormones and boosts oxytocin—the hormone of love, bonding, and labor. Oxytocin also supports healthy placental function and encourages effective uterine contractions during birth and recovery.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, Garbhabhyangam—the traditional pregnancy massage with warm, medicated oils—balances Vata and Pitta (often heightened during pregnancy) while nourishing Kapha, which supports growth, grounding, and a smooth birthing process.

While massage is avoided during the first trimester, starting from week 13, you’re invited to receive sessions every 3 weeks to stay balanced and supported. From week 34 onward, weekly massage becomes especially beneficial to ease tension, support your body’s natural preparation for labor, and offer space for rest and inward focus.
