PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES

Becoming a mother is a very personal adventure and Yoga brings a calm strenght and inner balance that enables you to overcome whatever challenges lie ahead. Supporting your motherhood journey since the early weeks is important, above all gentle pregnancy yoga helps you tone your muscles deeply, promoting the resilience and elasticity needed to make space for your baby and to recover your core well being after birth.

During my classes we practice poses that promote overall strength and stability by using strong leg positions: some poses include movements to avoid tension and strain and to create a greater ease and feeling of lightness.

During the early stages of your Pregnancy (until week 12) as you are adapting to hormonal changes, best is to rest and use the breath to support the most crucial and fast paced development of your baby's nervous system. Here my advice is to stop your usual exercise routine and to opt for restorative classes. From mid Pregnancy onwards empowering classes to create strength and stamina in body and mind to embrace this transformative time are recommended. You can join me as earlier as week 13 until when you give birth and you are welcome to come back during your postpartum time as soon as you feel the energy to exercise agai after the Sacred Postpartum Window.

We move through waves alternating moments of intensity to moments when we turn inward. By moving with your breath in a modified vinyasa flow, you’ll greatly increase your ability to connect with your inner strength in preparation of childbirth.

The class always ends with a restorative asana and a Yoga Nidra script or guided meditation preceded by a few rounds of pranayama to settle the mind. You are welcome to practice 2 or 3 times a week.
