What is a Doula and what does she do?

A few days ago I had the chance to sit and chat together with Kasia and Nina from Mamamoon: they are two resourceful women that accompany couples in the journey that makes them family or as they like to put it, from belly to baby.

We came together to discuss how Doulas can be valuable in supporting hands holding couples and women during pregnancy, labor and postpartum.

More important, there are several resources out there that can be helpful in understanding why Continuous Labour Support is such a game changer or how Doulas differ from labor and delivery nurse; I recommend if you would like to dive into the nitty-gritty.

Another message I feel relevant to share is the need to create more awareness on the importance of being supported during the postpartum: the role of the Kraamzorg here in NL is valuable but the need for help in recovery and establishing a new balance stretches way beyond the first week after giving birth.

I shared my experience so far and I hope it can be useful and that you have fun watching the video or listening at the Podcast
