My Story

Yoga and Ayurveda entered my life almost at the same time.

Applying slowly but steadily the principles of these two "sister sciences" into my daily life brought progressive changes that made space for what I needed the most: looking into myself and allowing "the new to settle."

Here is also when I started to grasp that for transformation to flow freely, I needed to find a place that would be left untouched by the storm. Here is were my journey to inner balance started.

Back then, the storm was saying goodbye to my "corporate life" and welcoming my new path as an Ayurveda and Ashtanga Yoga Practitioner.

Since the very beginning I felt the call to visit Mysore - India - where I am committed to return yearly to nurture my own practice under the guidance of R. Saraswathi Jois and R. Sharath Jois and many others generous and devoted teachers such as Dr. M.A. Jayashree, Sri. M.A. Narasimhan, Vidwan Lakshmish Bhat and Arvind Pare.

My curiosity for the therapeutic aspects of yoga exploded in 2015 when I met A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan (Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda), both direct students of Sri. T. Krisnamacharya.

Wanting to become a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist I started my study at The Yoga Therapy Institute where I found knowledgeable and compassionate teachers and an international community from which I keep on learning every day.

Gregor Mahele, Monica Gauci and Certified Ashtanga Yoga Teachers Eddie Stern and Luke Jordan represent a continued source of inspiration in approaching the yoga practice in a non-dogmatic way. They understand the scientific basis of the practice while deepening devotional and traditional aspects at the same time.

In 2017 I moved to India for one year to study and practice under the guidance of exceptional doctors: Dr. Vijith Sasidhar, Dr. Vidya Vijith, Dr. Shailesh Muli, Dr. Aiswarya Aishu, and also eventually met Dr. Amruta Athale.

Since then, I specialised and gained experience in Ayurvedic Gynaecology, Obstetrician, Postpartum and Panchakarma procedures.

This experience opened me up to support women as a Birth and Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula (BIA Doula Amsterdam and Sacred Postpartum Window): I cannot say how much I learn about Life journeying together with those mothers and their babies.

Currently I am happy to share my love for Yoga and Ayurveda online and in person within the warm community of Delight Yoga and the Delight Ayurvedic Academy in Amsterdam; I'm fortunate to be able to keep on learning and sharing my immense love for a practice that unfolds in a safe space, bringing up a level of intimacy with myself that has been - and still is - life changing.

I'm grateful for the loving guidance of all my teachers.

Among the things I've learned from them is that there is no transformation without friction: as to say that some level of effort is required to replace a harmful habit or a negative thought with a healthier and positive one.

Most likely we will be in need to re-train or to push ourself out of our comfort zone to a certain extent.

This is likely to feel uncomfortable and unsettling for a little while before the new habit becomes an effortless part of our new and healthier routine.

To overcome this initial sensation it is important to remember "the reason behind" and "keep on practicing" compassion and kindness towards ourself as there are going to be setbacks and moments when we feel like giving up.

Eventually, you'll get there and

I'm here to support and guide you in this process.

What else about me?

I love simple things: the smell of freshly made coffee that wakes me up in the morning, crisp sunrises in the winter, strolls by the sea, cooking, reading and traveling the world (the one outside and the one within) and my furry friend Mia.

I'm looking forward to meeting you soon, online or in person.
